What is the Eligibility Criteria for the 2019 SBI PO


SBI issues the recruitment notification for probation officers for its different branches. In 2019 also SBI will invite the applications from aspirants for the post of Probationary Officers. SBI PO exam date 2019 may fall in the 1st week of July 2019.




It is must for all aspirants to know about the eligibility for SBI PO and its exam pattern. Candidates in their last semester on last year of graduation fulfill the condition of SBI PO eligibility. SBI PO Eligibility   

SBI PO eligibility criteria include the details of age limit and education qualification.

Age Limit

The age limit of the candidates for SBI PO is 21 to 30 years. 1 April 2019 is the cut off date for the age. According to the age limit, the candidates should have born no later than April 1, 1998, and not earlier than April 2, 1989.

Candidates from reserved category get the relaxation in the upper age limit for the SBI PO.  Candidates for SC/ST category get the age relaxation of 5 years. OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates are eligible to get the age relaxation of 3 years.  PWD SC/ST candidates are eligible to get the 15 years of age relaxation.  PWD OBC candidates will the relaxation of 10 years. This age relaxation is only for the upper limit of age.

Educational Qualification

To apply for the post of SBI PO the candidate must have completed his/her graduation from a recognized university. Candidates in the last year or semester of their graduation can also apply for the post of SBI PO. 

SBI PO 2019 Exam Pattern

SBI PO 2019 exam will be conducted into following phases; Preliminary Exam, Mains examination followed by group discussion and Interview. The prior knowledge of SBI PO 2019 exam pattern will help you in the SBI PO exam.

Preliminary Exam

Prelims exam is like an entrance exam for SBI PO. The duration of prelim exam SBI 2019 is one hour. In this exam total, 100 questions are asked. Each question carries 1 mark. This question paper includes questions from Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English Language.

Mains Exam

According to SBI PO 2019 exam pattern the mains exam comprises objective type questions as well as descriptive type questions. Objective questions are of 200 marks and descriptive test will be of 50 marks.

Negative marking is applicable for objective type questions. ¼ marks every wrong question will be deducted. Both of the exams are conducted in online mode.
